Wellington Waterfront Safety Improvements

Wellington City Council are undertaking significant upgrades to the lighting and edge protection along the waterfront to meet the evolving needs of this popular area. 

The project includes:

• Upgrading the existing promenade lighting network with new pole and building-mounted lights
• Installing permanent edge protection measures
• Enhancing overall safety and accessibility of the waterfront

 Spencer Holme’s Involvement

Spencer Holmes was engaged by WCC to provide surveying services for the project. 

Services initially provided to WCC by Spencer Holmes:

• Full geolocated 3D point cloud of the area
• Geolocated high resolution aerial image of the waterfront
• A complete set of topographic drawings
• With the assistance of an external service locator, a set of plans displaying the located services along the waterfront was also provided

Later in the project timeline, Spencer Holmes was able to assist in setting out the anticipated design location of the poles, and in refining the final position of the poles to meet localised site constraints/conditions.
